I am a sophomore voice performance major at Bob Jones University. As you can tell from my major, I love to sing. But as you can tell from the subtitle of my blog, I also love to write, specifically poetry. I love to read, and I love finding new words and adding them to my vocabulary. I desire to learn and expand my knowledge so that I can be the best God wants me to be, whatever that is.
I like peaches. I love flowers. I love spearmint. I love scented lotions. I love to be random. My favorite colors are teal, coral, and lavender. I love tea (especially mint or fruit teas). I love to dress up. I love studying history. I enjoy staying connected with friends. I love working in K4T and with kids in general. I love to color, and I do in K4T when time allows. I love to swing. I love music therapy and aromatherapy. I really enjoy extracting DNA and electrophoresing DNA strands. Researching is one of my hobbies (I know I’m weird). I love cream cheese and sour cream and coffee creamer. Unfortunately, I’m lactose-intolerant, so I can’t have coffee creamer (it has sodium casienate, which I can’t have), but I can have sour cream and cream cheese is small amounts. And hard cheeses are not a problem. And I eat mozzarella anyway. I love cheese too much to give it up. I just recently (this summer) discovered that I like wearing my hair up, and so I can wear headbands again. One of my dreams is to write a novel or series of novels, but we’ll see if that actually happens. I would also love to go to Europe. Specifically Italy, France, the UK, and the Mediterranean. I really want to learn Italian, French, Gaelic, and ASL all fluently (like that’s going to happen…). I love photography. I love sunsets and beaches and mountains and hiking and camping. I love Christmas decorations and plants in pots. I love tubing in the creek at the Wilds until water wars. I REALLY enjoy music. I HATE to be late. I WILL stay up late to finish papers or assignments (because I hate to be late). I wear different colored/ patterned socks under boots (because if no one is going to see them, why does it matter if they match?). I am willing to stand up and take charge when no one else will, though I would just as gladly follow a courageous leader. I’m not too fond of moose heads that look like they’re staring at you. I love bay windows and gorgeous mountain views. I love working at the Wilds. I have two brothers and a sister. My dad is a computer programmer and my mom helps edit children’s books. I enjoy stream-of-consciousness (can you tell?). I love piano and surround sound. I love simplicity when it comes to decorating. A little can go a long way when it comes to actually looking elegant. I really enjoying rocking chairs, chair swings, and rope swings. I don’t like heights or bridges that go over water. I’m not afraid of basketball players. I have been on the giant swing twice and don’t plan on doing it again. Third time is not always a charm. I also don’t think I’m going to ride any more roller coasters (I’ve been on three). I like shopping, though I have to be in the mood. My favorite candy bar is Hershey’s Cookies’n'Creme. I don’t really like pop, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. My birthstone is sapphire, and I love the sapphire ring that I got for my 16th birthday, though I prefer white gold to yellow gold. I love studying people. I love circular stairways and plush recliners. I like bean pillows and memory foam. I enjoyed my three Christmas trips to Biltmore and would love to go again sometime during the summer. I don’t have to talk to fill space (though I’m having fun taking up space here). I enjoy just sitting with someone and enjoying the moment together. Sometimes it means that people think that we hate each other since we’re not speaking. And I don’t talk much when I first meet people, leading them to believe that I’m not talkative. I feel weird writing all of this because not too many people will read it. Too bad for them. Haha.
