It all started out as a love for the Italian language. I tried to translate the basic meaning of my name into Italian to create a signature for emails, and I ended up with a long name. It’s somewhat of a long story, but my first name carries the idea of love, and my middle name is joy. That got me started on the fruits of the spirit, and so my Italian name became “Innamorata Gioia T. R. D. I. F. D. P.”, each initial standing for the subsequent fruit of the spirit.
Innamorata actually has the idea of “sweetheart” or “beloved.” My first name is somewhat hard to translate because it carries the most meaning in its original language—Latin. In English it means something along the lines of “worthy of love” or “needing to be loved” or “beloved.” None of those was completely satisfactory by itself, so I create a new definition of Amanda—”Beloved and Worthy of all Acceptation.” My middle name in Latin is the root of the word felicitous, and my last name is a derivative of the name Nicholas, which means “victory/triumph of the people.”
I also was initiated into an elite group recently—The Core. It is somewhat of a secret society, and I cannot reveal much else besides the fact that I am the CFO and the Poet Laureate.
I have many interests and hobbies, including history, poetry, studying languages, reading, collecting stamps, eating fresh fruit (especially peaches), taking care of children, trying new kinds of tea and coffee, and listening to/performing music.
I am also a S.I.P.—a Saint in Progress. The story behind that title is quite humorous, but rather long, so if you’d like the hear the whole story, you’ll have to ask me personally.
